This ornament required a different gluing sequence than the previous designs. It basically required 1" x 1" strips of oak glued to 1/4" thick strips of mahogany in a "plus" pattern. The long, thin finial makes the design. |

This design required carefull cutting and drilling prior to turning. Each side is step-drilled (1", 3/4", 1/2") through the center of the ball. After turning, a crystal is hung in the center. |
